Repair of a Large-Scale Rolling Mill Guide Bar

Specialized capabilities for the repair of large-scale components

A rolling mill guide bar measuring 560 mm in diameter and 6,720 mm in length, with a hardness of 55–58 HRC, was repaired using a specialized hard chrome plating process.

The repair restored the working surfaces and provided increased resistance to wear and corrosion. During testing, the guide bar performed reliably under demanding conditions, maintaining the integrity of the coating and helping extend its service life. Wear was also identified on bronze components of the forging table during the project. As part of the work, the table was refurbished and the affected components were replaced, restoring the assembly to proper operating condition.

The repair restored a large-scale component, extended the service life of the guide bars, and helped reduce unplanned downtime and maintenance requirements.
